Power Plant Management Information System

Materials Management System
Materials Management System takes charge of unified planning, procurement, and supply of materials and equipment used in the production process of power plant, all funds settled at the Finance Department. The principal activities include materials procurement plans compilation, contract management, inventory management, and financial management. The objective of materials management is to meet the needs of all departments in regard to materials supply, and the quantity and quality of maintenance equipment, so as to keep the production proceeding normally, and on the basis of this, make capital appropriated to inventory materials reach the minimum. Besides, its activities include subcontracting and repair of equipment parts and accessories, in which approval and contract management concerning subcontracting is involved.

Fuel Management System
Fuel Management System is an information management system responsible for fuel management of the whole plant. Fuel is one of the key factors of production in thermal power plant, taking up the major part of the production cost. With the introduction and operation of market-oriented system, fuel management at electrical enterprises has become even more important. To improve the level of fuel management, Fuel Management System is developed, the functions of which include: realizing networking of fuel purchase, consumption, and storage information transfer, assisting data management, establishing fuel database, ensuring information uniqueness, consistency, and integrity, accomplishing prompt, timely and accurate data processing, achieving modernization of fuel management, lowering electricity generation cost, increasing economic benefits.

This system carries out statistics summing and inquiry concerning fuel purchase, consumption and storage, generates corresponding statements, makes statistical inferences about coal price and coal quality so that comparison by time period is available. All this serves as foundation for management and decision making.

Power Plant Marketing Strategy Technical Support System
To adapt to electric power industry reform and market-oriented operation of electricity, Power Plant Marketing Strategy Technical Support System is developed to meet the needs of power generation companies and could be applied to various types of power generation companies that participate in bidding. This large-scale integrated management and decision-making support system is based on electricity market rules and market information released by trading center, takes into consideration the cost analysis of power plants and units, and thus provides decision making analysis for power generation companies participating in bidding.

    According to the production and management information of the power plant, and the operational information of electricity market, this system determines the real-time, dynamic production costs of units.
